Cafe Wabi Sabi Everton
About This Spot
Step into Cafe Wabi Sabi Everton and you immediately sense a calm, thoughtful energy quietly humming beneath its rustic charm. Located tucked away in a humble corner of Outram, this café embraces the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi — finding beauty in simplicity, imperfection, and the understated. The space itself is intimate and unpretentious, offering a gentle refuge from the city’s usual buzz, where natural light falls softly on minimalist wooden tables and warm earth tones.
The pace here is unhurried, inviting visitors to linger over conversation or personal moments, whether you’re catching up with friends or seeking a pause to recharge. Small details—like the clever storage space under chairs for your bags and conversation prompts thoughtfully left on tables—lend a human touch that quietly encourages connection and ease.
On the menu, you’ll find dishes and drinks that mirror the café’s philosophy: carefully crafted, familiar with a subtle twist, and presented with an artist’s sensibility. From the rich, roasted notes of a houjicha latte to the playful zing of spicy sauces elevating crisp, golden fries, each bite and sip feels both comforting and distinct. The thoughtful balance in flavors and textures invites exploration without rush; whether it’s a warm chawanmushi or a fresh, lively sandwich, these offerings feel made to savor in good company or quiet reflection.
Wabi Sabi Everton is not about grandiosity or speed—its appeal lies in the quietly crafted atmosphere where imperfect moments are embraced and the experience feels refreshingly honest. Here, even a simple coffee or snack becomes a small discovery, perfect for those who appreciate spaces that encourage pausing, noticing, and appreciating the little details that often go unseen.

Nice sando but abit small for the price. Highlight was defo the aesthetic drinks. V fun to see atas pretty drinks being served. The hojicha was real good. The spicy sauce that came with the wabi fries was lit can give moreee Honestly 5/5 for immaculate vibes, but holistically minus 1 star. Serving time abit slow and ngl portion size need to increase to justify the $$ (abit ex even for a café…) zzz but that’s why here can use CDC voucher ah kekeke [Oct 04 2025]

Wabi-sabi is a Japanese concept that celebrates simplicity, imperfection, and the beauty of things just as they are. And honestly, the cafe has that vibe, calm, minimal, and welcoming. I ordered the Genmaicha Osmanthus Latte, and it was lovely: smooth, balanced, and fragrant without being overpowering. I also tried the Pork Katsu Sando, and here’s my honest take: the overall plate was good, but the pork itself felt a bit off, almost like it had been frozen and cooked too fast, so the texture didn’t quite land. Everything else in the sando was fresh and tasty though. The staff was really nice, and the space has a cozy feel, so I’d still go back and give it another try.

Visited this on a Sunday mid afternoon, and surprised to find it‘a full house! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming — perfect for relaxing with a coffee or catching up with friends. We have ordered: Spicy Cheesy Tori Katsu Sando (14.9) - fresh crispy spicy chicken katsu slathered with wasabi mayo and fresh greens, make it very refreshing and inviting with every bite. 10/10 must-order! Black sesame cake & coffee combo (7.9): extremely MOIST warm and rich fragrant cake. Paired with decent white coffee! Highly recommend this café if you’re after good food, great coffee, and a cozy vibe!

Went around 6pm, not too crowded. Tiny rustic corner tucked away in the heartland of the outram. Had 3 mains,1 side and a drink. 1. Mentaiko fries (10/10) - hit the spot, similar to genki mentaiko fries. 2. Soy glazed chicken don (8/10) - It was quite tasty and they are generous with the chicken 3.Tomyum pasta 5/10 - slightly disappointed because saw Google reviews that it was very tasty and had a kick to it. I would say the tom yum flavour was quite mild. The seafood was its quite fresh. 4. Pork katsu sando (7/10) - yummy and filling. It was also quite light. Iced dirty matcha (9/10) flavours were quite strong and done well They had an extensive drink menu which I wanted to try. Will be back if around the area!! Overall, a cozy and pleasant experience.

Grabbed a meal here before heading to the BLACKPINK concert and loved it! We ordered the karaage set and a sandwich — both were sooo good The vibe was super nice and thoughtful. Loved that there’s space under the chair for bags, and the conversation cards on the table were such a cute idea to get the chat going. Perfect spot to chill, enjoy a city walk, and recharge. Plus, it’s super close to the metro station, which makes everything extra convenient. Would totally come back!

Ambience and service were excellent. The food was generally good and we really enjoyed the drinks, the fried oysters and the tamago. The beef Hamburg Sando was decent too. The burnt cheesecake was a bit of a letdown though. But overall it was a great experience - will definitely come again if I'm in the area.

Ordered the sesame salad, curry pasta and tom yum pasta. Sesame sauce tamago salad—nice mix of ingredients and a generous sharing portion for $8.90. Tom yum pasta—nice tom yum fragrance but the flavour of the cream masked too much of the tomyum for any kick. great if you have a fear of spice i guess. Be wary of the menu because it can be misleading—e.g “soba” actually means pasta, and the tom yum pasta has cream, but cream is not mentioned in the description. Special thanks to Manel who promptly attended to us no matter the request, patiently and pleasantly throughout our meal. I also noticed her returning a bottle to a customer who had left it on the floor, seemingly forgotten. Wabi sabi is a better place with Manel! Otherwise, the atmosphere can be a bit too cozy during lunchtime-small and a little noisy, it could do with sound absorption devices
